In 1952, a B-17 bomber crashed in the Tull Canyon area of the Olympic wilderness. It is rumored to have been a spy plane returning from a mission.
On a whim in late January, we took a trip to hike up to the crash site and see what we could see. While most of the wreckage was snow covered, we could still find pieces of it strewn across the wilderness. The entire trip was beautiful, it is the Olympic Forest after all.
